Greetings!

I have exciting news to share! I have the blessings of my junior arborists team, so I will run again for the Ward 7 State Board of Education, to address failed education policy and the large number of students at risk of failing and unprepared for life after high school. After thoughtful consideration, it is necessary to be a stronger voice for students, parents, and teachers.

Over the past fifteen years as an education activist, public servant, and post-secondary trade school director, I helped champion legislation to create and enhance youth development and enrichment programs, to remove barriers that have led to chronic unemployment, crime, and violence. Although I have great achievements, I know that I can do more. I am particularly proud of promoting education equity and workforce development with the Vocational Technical Education Pathway Policy Act of 2020 and the Elizabeth Davis Education Equity Policy Act of 2022.

I am often asked why I am so passionate. I am passionate because I know every student can be successful if supported. I also know how excellent education was to previous generations. Well, it is time for me to come off the bench. Ward 7 has been my home much of my life and I want to help restore a brighter Ward 7. Education is the foundation for everything. And, although reports show graduation rates have increased over the years, core subject learning, post-secondary achievement, and preparation for life or the workforce have not.

With global uncertainty and the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, students are in uncharted waters. They will need our collective energy and efforts to see brighter days. I have the ideas and vision to restore the hope of education for the future of our young people, create environments that foster civic engagement and political awareness, and help build an education system that recovers what has been lost for the betterment of all students and society.

Today, I ask you for your support in sharing my message.

I am not the choice of political insiders - don't let them choose your next Ward 7 State Board of Education representative. Although I have a comprehensive plan of action I will have a very unorthodox campaign in which I will next accept or request campaign contributions or donations. In addition, my campaign will be run by high school students. I come from a family of educators and ministers who believe in integrity and truth. I am an education activist, motivated by history, my children, many at-risk youth, and the obligation to be a public servant in my community. Thank you for your time and don't forget to share.
